Holy Baptism, Marriage, and Hospitalization

Holy Baptism

Adults:  It is the norm of St. Thomas parish to enroll adult candidates for baptism in our adult catechumenal process.  This intentional process prepares each candidate with foundational understanding of God as Triune (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), the history of the universal Church and its doctrine, the meaning of the liturgy, and the importance of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.

Infants and Children:  Infants and older children of any member in good standing of St. Thomas Church may be baptized at any one of the five baptismal feasts celebrated each year:  The Baptism of Our Lord (January), The Great Vigil of Easter (March or April), Pentecost (May or June), All Saints' Day (November), and the Bishop's Annual Visitation.  Prior arrangements must be made with the Rector.

Marriage

The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage is offered as a sacrament of the Church available to Saint Thomas members and their immediate families.   Couples wishing to be married at Saint Thomas must contact the Rector at least 90 days prior to the proposed wedding date and attend a series of marriage counseling sessions.

Please note:  All Weddings are a service and sacrament of the Church and all Saint Thomas members are therefore automatically invited to attend should they desire, however, attendance at any subsequent reception is strictly by invitation of the wedding party.

Hospitalization

The Rector should be notified in advance of planned hospitalizations or at the time of emergency admissions so that prayer and sacramental administrations may begin as soon as possible.
