Financial Outreach
St. Thomas Church is committed to helping the residents of Orange County who may find themselves in challenging circumstances. We provide regular financial support to the Orange Free Clinic, the Christian Emergency Council, the Love Outreach Food Pantry, and the Orange Free Dental Clinic. Financial support of these agencies provides necessary medical and dental care, staple food supplies, and rent and utility assistance for families and individuals in need.
The Christian Emergency Council is made up of Orange County churches who have pooled their financial resources to help county residents. Certain member churches, like St. Thomas, are tasked with responding to all calls for assistance during a specific month of the year. Designated church volunteers are specifically trained to deal with calls for assistance. They determine the nature of need and the financial resources necessary for assistance and they guide those seeking assistance toward the various social service agencies, budgeting workshops, and utility support programs that can continue to help them.
The Outreach Committee considers additional needs and programs within our community that can further assist individuals and families.
In addition, several fund raisers and parish events are currently under consideration to increase the resources available to our neighbors who find themselves in distress or need.
