Eckhart Ensemble

Join us at St. Thomas Church each January for a concert by the Eckhart Ensemble, a mixture of strings and oboe. We recently held our 2019 Event on January 6th.

The next concert in 2020 to be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 4pm

The Eckhart Ensemble traditionally present the music of a variety of classical composers like: J.S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, Schubert, and Brahms, as well as an interesting assortment of Renaissance dances and whimsies.

The program is presented by the Orange Music Society and is Free and Open to the Public.

Past years have included, internationally acclaimed flutist Nicolas Duchamp featured during Bach's Second Orchestral Suite.

Ellen Cockerham and Adrian Pintea have also joined us as soloists for Violin Concertoes.

The Eckhart Ensemble traditionally features major works by Johann Sebastian Bach, the ‘Brandenburg’ Concerto No. 1, Bach’s ‘Little G minor Fugue’, and the E Major Violin Concerto. The guest violinist has included, Karen Johnson, a regular performer in the Washington DC area, performing as a soloist with local orchestras and chamber groups in venues such as the White House, State Department, and the residence of the Vice President.
